LEARN TO SURF LA


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All students must provide a signed waiver form at the time of their lesson . You can download and print our Waiver Form here to fill out and bring to the first lesson. We also have waivers available on location at the lesson/camp.

PAYMENT

Services will not be provided without prior payment of a minimum deposit. All remaining payments are due at the beginning of any services provided. Surf lesson packages must be paid in full at the beginning of the first lesson, or the lesson will be charged at the individual lesson rate. Payment can be made by cash, credit card or check at the beach, or by check or credit card in advance. Uncleared checks will incur an additional $25 processing fee.


SURF LESSONS

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy: Each lesson or lesson package requires a minimum $50 non-refundable deposit for every 4 students or fraction thereof (1 to 4 students = $50 deposit, 4 to 8 students = $100 deposit, etc). Any remainder due for a surf lesson or a surf lesson package must be paid at the first lesson. Students that haven't arrived at their scheduled lesson and cannot be reached by phone are considered no-shows 20 minutes after the scheduled lesson start time and will not be refunded their deposit (call if you are running late and we will do what we can to accommodate you). Lessons that start late due to student tardiness will end at the originally scheduled time unless other arrangements are made.

Lessons rescheduled more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson start time will incur no fee. Lessons that are rescheduled less than 48 hours before the scheduled time will be charged a $35 reschedule fee.


SURF CAMP

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy: All camp registrations require either payment in full or a minimum $100 non-refundable deposit per student, per week. Any remainder due must be paid at or by the first day of camp.

All cancellations and reschedules must be made via email, or, if less than 48 hours before the scheduled time, they must be made by phone. Surf camp reschedules must be requested at least 48 hours prior to camp to incur no reschedule fee. Any surf camp session that is cancelled or rescheduled less than 48 hours before the scheduled time will be charged a $35 reschedule/cancellation fee per student. We do not provide reschedules for camp scheduled for the same day - such situations are considered no-shows and will not be refunded.

Early drop-off and late pickup need to be arranged in advance. If we have no early drop-offs or late pickups scheduled, we will be ready to accept campers no earlier than 9:40am and will not be available to monitor them any later than 3:20pm. Early drop-off starts no earlier than 9am, and late pickup ends no later than 4pm. Should Learn to Surf LA staff need to stay additional time after 4pm to ensure a student's safety until they are picked up by a parent or guardian, there will be an additional fee of $20 for each 15 minutes or fraction thereof staff must wait after 4pm for a late pickup.


RENTALS

All equipment rental fees must be paid in full in advance. All equpment rental fees are final and are non-refundable.


GIFT CERTIFICATES

All gift certificate sales are final and are non-refundable.


REFUNDS

A non-refundable deposit is due for all of our services. In the event that a payment or partial payment is refunded you, your refund will take place in one of the following ways:
If you paid using a PayPal balance or account, the refund will be credited to your PayPal balance.
If you paid with a credit or debit card within the last 60 days, the refund will be credited to your card. Depending on the card issuer, it can take up to 30 days for your refund to appear on your statement, depending on your credit card issuer..
If more than 60 days have passed since you made your credit card payment and you do not have a Paypal account we can transfer a refund to, we will not be able to refund directly to your card, and will mail a check to an address you provide within the US instead, minus a 5% processing fee. If you cannot provide an address within the US for us to send a check to, we will not be able to mail you a check, and you will need to create a Paypal account for us to transfer the full refund to you.

Double charges: In the unlikely event that you don't follow the instructions on the payment processing page by either reloading or opening the page in a new window while the payment is processing, and in the event that this action results in a double charge on your credit card as it states it could on that same payment processing page, you need to notify us by email, and we will process a refund for you within 5 business days (please note, as mentioned above, this process can take up to 30 days to complete, depending on your credit card issuer).

In the event that you do not observe the terms and contitions above, but instead initiate a chargeback through your credit card company, you will be assessed a $30 chargeback fee which we will charge to your same credit card to cover our expenses for your erroneous chargeback.

SURF CONDITIONS

Ocean conditions will vary from day to day, and from hour to hour. We are an experienced surf school that has been operating in and around Santa Monica Bay since 2001, and we are very familiar with the range of conditions on the beaches we teach on, as well as the effects of the tides and currents on them. We schedule our lessons and our camp activities around the rhythms of the ocean to ensure the best possible conditions for learning. By using our services, you agree to defer to our judgement in this regard, and there will be no refunds, exchanges, or reschedules due to conditions unless we deem them to be unworkable or unsafe.


Learn to Surf LA may at any time contact you to reschedule your surf lesson if for any unforseen reason we are unable to accommodate you at your scheduled time. All lessons and availability are subject to change and/or cancellation. The vast majority (more than 99%) of our surf lessons take place at the time requested and confirmed, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience should we need to reschedule you. In the event we do need to reschedule you, please be advised that our policies regarding reschedules initiated by the student (indicated above) remain in effect.

Learn to Surf LA reserves the right to cancel any services if we deem the conditions to be unsafe or if minimum enrolments are not met. In the event of such a cancellation, all services will be either rescheduled or fully refunded according to the terms listed above under REFUNDS.

Learn to Surf LA is not responsible for any expenses incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations or illness/sickness, or surf lesson cancellations.

Learn to Surf LA reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
